• Azoospermia ( Ausencia de Esperma no Ejaculado)
The azoospermia is defined as the absence of sperm in the ejaculate and is present in approximately 15% of couples who failed to conceive after a year of relations without any contraceptive method. (Consensus AUA). Azoospermia may have 3 main causes: a) Inadequate hormonal stimulation of the testicles. b) Genetic failure in the formation of testicles. c) Obstruction or abnormities in the duct that carries sperm to the urethra. Azoospermia is different from “aspermia” which is the absence of any seminal fluid in the ejaculate.
